ReMED Multi-Level Governance in urban climate adaptation

Climate adaptation requires coordinated action across multiple governance levels (from EU and national policy frameworks to regional and local implementation). This guide addresses this challenge by developing and testing a practical methodology to support Multi-Level Governance (MLG) in climate adaptation through the use of the ReMED platform. The methodology is based on a simple four-step workflow that connects governance structures, strategic objectives, adaptation measures, and monitoring activities. The process includes: (i) mapping the governance and planning context, (ii) aligning local adaptation measures with higher-level strategies, (iii) defining monitoring approaches and indicators, and (iv) validating the results through stakeholder Focus Groups.
